Notes |
- From The History of Wellington County by Jean F. Hutchinson
George S. Armstrong, 1825-1894, may have been the first white, male child born in Eramosa Twp., in 1855. By 1862, he had established a nursery on the Owen Sound Road north of Fergus, on lot 20, conc. 16, Upper Nichol. There was a large family. Of these: Luther Armstrong, born 1858, in Nichol Twp., settled on lot 5, conc. 7, 6th line, W. Gara. He married Margaret Bayne of W. Gara. Isabel was the wife of A. Faskin, a prominent lawyer in Toronto. Frances, Mrs. Rae Grant of Mimosa, moved to West Coast and others went west.
