      Schaus, Christena
      The death of Christena Schaus took place on Thursday, Sept. 24, 1953. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chittick, of Wingham. The deceased, a daughter of John Holtzbauer and his wife, Elizabeth Faulkner, was born at Plattsville, May 14. 1860.
      She married John Scheerer in 1890 and they lived in Carrick. He died in 1912. She again married to Joseph Heimbecker, who died two years later. Then Louis Schaus became her husband and who passed away a number of yean. Surviving are four sons. Henry, of Calgary, Alberta ; Ed, of Newark, NJ.; Charles, of Mt. Forest, and Albert, of Uxbridge; five daughters, Mrs. Augusta Chittick, of Wingham; Elizabeth. Mrs. Wm. Reidt. of Cilfford; Emma, Mrs. H. Wildfang. of Neustadt: Anelia, Mrs. Garrett. of Seaforth, and Maude, Mrs. Paul Preiss. of Clifford. Also 47 grandĀ­children and 45 great-grandchildren. Three sons, Gotteleib, Louis and William, predeceased her. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from St. John's Lutheran Church, with burial at Clifford Cemetery. Rev. M. J. Michael conducted the services. Two solos were sung by Erna Kropp and Lois Bieman. The pallbearers were W. Hay,Ernie Kleist, Elmer Reuber, Roy Seip. Menno Wildfang and Art Heard. The flowers were carried by Jack. Peter. Victor, Betty and Billy Reidt. Charlie, Robert and Jim Chittick, Yvonne Seip, Clayton Preiss.,Murray Garrett and Harvey Wildfang.
