    • The ancestors of Josef Wurm were from Elsatz Lorene which is a province on the river Swar. He notes that this area switched back and forth from Germany to France. He stated that the area being haunted, the Wurm’s left. Some went to Yugoslavia, some to Switzerland, some to Pennsylvania. Josef’s great-grandfather went to Yugoslavia.

      JOSEF (JOE) WURM Passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2005, at Grand River Hospital of the K-W Health Centre, Kitchener. Joe [....] was born 68 years ago in Selci, Yugoslavia, a son of the late Michael & Elizabeth Wurm. Joe [....] owned and operated the Golden Hammer Inn, New Hamburg, beginning in 1978. He loved to play his sax & clarinet for various bands including The Hornets and Night Magic, and also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Beloved husband of [...]. Joe will also be remembered by his aunts, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives may call at the MARK JUTZI FUNERAL HOME, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg (519-662-1661), on Wednesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and again on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered on Friday, December 23, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, New Hamburg. Burial will take place on Saturday, December 24, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ladislaus Cemetery, Courtland. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Breast Cancer Society of Canada, or the charity of your choice. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
