His parents were (labourer) Torvald Gulbrandsson Gubberud and wife, Anne Karine Bertilsdotter. It states they were living on Persbråten (Skretteberg) at the time of his birth. Gustav`s uncles, (bachelor) Ole Bertilsson Persbråten and (bachelor) Torger Bertilsson Persbråten were his godparents.
It appears that both Gustav and his brother, Gotfred were born on Persbråten (Skretteberg), but took their father`s farm name of Gubberud at some time while they were living in the United States. |
