OLD HOTEL MAN DEAD
Hespeler, May 3 -- A veteran hotel man of the Province passed away here at the Queen's Hotel in the person of Joseph Wayper, sr, in his 81st year. Deceased was a native of Durham, England and came to Canada in 1824. He kept a hotel at Elora, Palmerston, Arthur, Guelph and Hespeler. His wife. aged 79, and his son Joseph, the trapshooter, survive.
Joseph married Hannah Wilson on Autumn of 1845 in Weardale, Durham County, England. Hannah (daughter of William Wilson and Unknown) was born on 25 Dec 1824 in Durham, England; died on 28 Jan 1909 in Hespeler, Waterloo Township, Waterloo County, Ontario; was buried in New Hope Cemetery, Hespeler, Ontario.
