    Notes:

    Daniel emigrated to Canada about 1834. He settled in St. Catharines, Ontario and later moved to Glasgow Mills (later known as Bridgeport, Ontario). On November 5,1836, he met Theobald, his half brother (just arriving in Canada, via New York from Germany), with a wagon , in St. Catharines, Ontario, and took him and his wife and family ( Michael, Elizabeth, & Maria), to Preston, Ontario. Later, he moved to Zurich, Ontario, where he farmed on the Blind Line,(the first road east of Zurich). It was the third farm north of the no. 84 Highway. While in Zurich, they had 10 children, Valentin, Catherine (Mrs. Henry Wurm), John, Philip, Dan, Elizabeth, Adam, Jacob (who married Anna Neuschwanger, daughter of Mary Schumacher and John Neuschwanger), & Mary Ann (who married Wm. Schrader), and Anna born 1861 and died the same year. In the census of 1861, Daniel's surname is Zellers. Then in the 1871 census, it is changed to ZELLER.
