      From the Benson County Farmers' Press:

      Funeral services of Olaf T. Peterson, 72, of Minnewaukan were conducted from the Presbyterian Church in Minnewaukan on July 18 with Rev. Fred Schaffer officiating. Interment was in Minnewaukan Cemetery.

      Mr. Peterson died Wednesday in the Maddock Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for some time.

      Active pallbearers were Milson Ball, Lyle Huffman, George Gantner, Gordon Johnson, George Schmid and Harry Cline. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Huffman, Ernest May, Les Helland, Glen Schmid, Joke Wold and Raymond Weed.

      Mrs. Oscar Hanson was the organist and accompanied Vernon Lysne, who sang, 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'Safe In The Arms of Jesus'.

      Wheeler Funeral Home of Maddock was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

      Olaf Thorvold Peterson was born Aug. 27, 1897, a son of Adolph and Bertha Peterson near Vang, N. D. He attended public school there, then moved with his parents to Minnewaukan. He worked and resided in the Minnewaukan area the remainder of his life. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Minnewaukan.

      On May 7, 1935, he was married to Marnie Deede in Minnewaukan. Surviving are his wife; four sons, Roger of Baltimore, Harold of Milwaukee, Curtis and Larry, both at home; three daughters, Mrs. James (Sharon) Moyland of Baltimore, Mrs. George (Marlys) May of Wahpeton and Mrs. Larry (Shirley) Wettstein of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. All (Lenore) Fix and Mrs. Adam (Lily) Hecker, both of Minot; four brothers, Lawrence and Carl, both of Minnewaukan, Hans of Sheyenne and Leon of Polson, Mont.; and nine grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
