Obituary of George Reidt
George Reidt Passes
George Reidt, resident of the 13th concession of Howick, passed away on Saturday, February 8, following a paralytic stroke. He was in his 63rd year, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reidt, born in Minto township. In 1903 he was married to Catherine Heipel of Normanby. For some years he lived in Clifford and followed the trade of a mason, being on of Mr. Jacob Fritz's employees. About 20 years ago he moved to the farm in Howick where he died, and for the past seventeen years has been an invalid, scarcely able to go around. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Warren of Palmerston, Telford at home, two daughters (Znobia) Mrs. G. Smeltzer of Rockwood and (Beatrice) Mrs. J. B. Ristdale of Toronto, two brothers, Henry of near Harriston and Rev. Charles of MItchell, S.D., six sisters, Mrs. Scott, Wingham, Mrs. Wm. Perschbacher, Mildmay, Mrs. George Heipel, Fordwich, Mrs. Phillips, Guelph, Mrs. Menno Hallman, Calgary, Alta. The funeral was held on Wednesday with interment in Clifford cemetery. A short service was held at the house followed by service in Knox United Church. Rev. Jas. Hampson conducted the services and Mr. J. L. Taylor sang "Face to Face". The pall bearers were Messrs. Adam Ries, John Porterfield, Jacob Fritz, John Kline, Henry Kreuger and Caspar Phillips.
