Another old resident of the Township in the person of Mr. George Thiel Sr. died at the family residence 14th concession on Thursday last having reached the age of 84 years. The deceased had been in rather poor health for some years and the end came not unexpected. He was one of the pioneers of the Township and although of a retiring disposition, he leaves many warm personal friends of long standing who mourn his loss. He leaves a widow and grown up family. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, the interment taking place in the Lutheran cemetery and was conducted by Rev. C.C.J. Maas, in the presence of a large gathering.
