      012816-89 (Wellington Co.) Thomas CARTER, 25, farmer, Puslinch Twp, same, s/o Thomas CARTER & Eliza ILES, married Robina TOPPING, 19, Markham Twp, Puslinch Twp, d/o John TOPPING & Rachel CAMERON, wtn: James WOOD of Puslinch & Ada TOPPING of Guelph, on Mar 6, 1889, at Guelph.

    • The couple farmed at con 9, lot 6, Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario. The property is at the south east end of Guelph on Victoria Road south of Stone Road.

      The stone farm house is situated at the end of a long driveway lined with tall spruce trees. The home has a servant's quarters above the kitchen which, in 1901, was occupied by John Topping born 22 Jan 1874.

    • Earl farmed the family homestead. He retired in the early 1980s and sectioned off a small lot close to the road on the northwest corner of the property. He built a bungalow. Several years later the farm was sold to the City of Guelph.
