    • Ella and Martin first met when they were tiny babies and knew each other growing up. When Ella turned 12 she and Martin lost touch with each other, however they reunited when they were about 19 years old. In 1933 Ella married Martin Hoffos. They never had a big wedding. They were married at the minister's house. Since then, they were together for 62 years. Martin passed away March 12, 1995.

    Herman Olson, his wife, and their infant daughter, Ella arrived in Saskatchewan from North Dakota in May of 1910. The census of 1911 lists them as homesteading on this property.

    On 9 May 1910, Herman O. Olson arrived at the Port of Haskett, Manitoba with his wife and infant child. His grandfather, Olaf Peterson, traveled with them. Family lore states that the group arrived in Watson, Saskatchewan the following day. Note that this record lists incorrect name of wife and child.
