Philip Zeller, "The Zellers of this county are descendants of old Philip Zeller, a native of Rhein Bajerin, Germany, where he was born February 2nd, 1791. He was married to Elizabeth Glueck who was born in the same place January 10th, 1792. In 1833 they emigrated to America and in June of the same year they came to Buffalo, New York, where they made a stay of only three weeks. From here they moved across the boundary line and settled within one-half mile from St. Catharines, Lincoln County, Ontario, where he purchased a farm. Here she died September 18th, 1844. In April, 1846, Mr. Zeller disposed of his real estate and moved to Waterloo County, Ontario, where he purchased the farm of John Cressman, deceased. This farm contained 183 acres and the price paid for it was $4600. In 1854 this large farm was divided into two farms. The north part was purchased by Mr. Philip Zeller, the younger son of old Mr. Zeller, while Jacob Zeller retained the south part, containing the old "Cressman Buildings." Here Mr. Zeller died July 18th, 1854. His family consisted of five children

Martin married Susannah Ries on 17 Mar 1825. Susannah was born on 21 Mar 1796; died on 13 Dec 1872 in Breslau, Waterloo Co., Ontario. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Johann married Maria Elisabeth 'Lisette' Stuber on 13 Apr 1790 in Hutschenhausen, Germany. Maria (daughter of Daniel Stuber and Elisabetha Margaretha Christmann) was born on 2 Mar 1766 in Hutschenhausen, Germany; died on 29 Jan 1802 in Hutschenhausen, Germany. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Hannes Schiedel, "the ancestor of all the Schiedels of this county, was born in Wurtenberg, Germany, about the year 1775. In 1815 he with his wife and family emigrated to America and settled in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where they died, leaving a family (since writing the above it has been ascertained that here were two more sons, viz: Jacob and Frederick who remained in Pennsylvania) of several children. The names of two of the sons were John and Martin who were the only members of the family that settled in Canada.
